About D-Lux Arts CIC
Founded in 2016, D-Lux brings warmth, light and curiosity to Dumfries town centre at the darkest time of the year.
Our Work
We encourage artists and the public to explore new ways to use Dumfries’ central, public spaces through the use of light and play.
We do this to support ongoing town-centre regeneration efforts, Dumfries’ night-time economy, and to develop our local creative events production workforce.
We provide free, open and specially arranged art-making sessions to the public, and paid training, development and work experience opportunities for young people in creative, technical, events management and production roles.
Our Funders and Supporters
D-Lux Festival of Light-based Art 2021 is a Regional Growth Event funded by Dumfries and Galloway Council (2019-2022) and The Holywood Trust.
Since our foundation, our work has been made possible by the ongoing financial support of Mark Jardine MBE, The People’s Project, Jardine Funeral Directors, and logistical and financial support from SP Energy Networks.
Past festivals have also been funded by the Culture and Business Fund (2017, 2018, 2019) and Creative Scotland (2020).
We also acknowledge and give grateful thanks for the continued support of The Stove Network, Big Burns Supper, The Midsteeple Quarter Project, and all of the amazing artists, interns, stewards, technicians, programmers, researchers, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, engineers, gamers, riggers, building operators and technology suppliers who go the extra mile every year to make what we do possible.
